Thanks for your help, guys...but this thing sounds pretty bad...only had it for 2 1/2 years...nothing comes on but these loud horrendous beeps...must be fried I guess...for anyone to look at it requires a $70 deposit...probably better off just tossing it?...I have what I need backed up...

These are post codes (aka "beep" codes) that the BIOS gives when there's a hardware problem. Unfortunately, there's no universal standard for what means what between board manufacturers (or even between boards by the same!)

I'll need to know the exact model to be able to give you more than that.

Have you recently done anything with the memory or other hardware? This might have something to do with it. Any details you could provide will help. I'll update my answer when I have more info to go on.

In the meantime, here's a link to HP's troubleshooting guide for beep codes. The list at the bottom does not give an explanation of this specific code, but the steps should be followed anyway. I've seen posts about this problem, but nobody had anything useful to say and were all old and closed.

As Josh Aarons mentions below, it appears to be an issue with the display initializing. Normally, you don't see an issue like this if it's just the LCD inverter (backlight control) or LCD panel itself, but if the display chip on the motherboard is having problems, then the motherboard itself may be effectively shot. I'd attempt attaching an external monitor, just in case, but I'm doubting you'll get anything that way, either. It's worth a shot, but I'm thinking the graphics chip fried. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that's possible to fix, unless it's a soldering issue, and I'm not qualified to advise you on that level. If anyone here knows how to fix something like this, they'll speak up. Otherwise, consider board replacement. Failing that, pull the hard drive and attach it to your next system to transfer your data (an external USB adapter or enclosure should be fairly easy to find and not particularly expensive).

II checked out that document you linked to, saw some more stuff at bottom..

Ive attached the images. The 2nd one I think is correct, and looks like a video issue.

Have you also tried re-seating the ram? What happened prior to the issue starting?

Yeah, seems I didn't look close enough at all the items on the page or I would have seen that. I had looked at another page that didn't have the matching item for the Award BIOS and just assumed this page was the same. Glad one of us was paying attention!
