Removed screen but internals still blocked

I wanted to replace my iPhone se screen, but when i opened it up i was greeted with this:

Block Image

What should I do now and how do I fix it?

BTW it has been soaked in water but its still working its just the display thats not. We took it to a repair shop and they replaced the battery but after a while the screen wasn’t working.

Thank you

I can’t really figure out exactly what you have there and what you opened..the iPhone ? the replacement screen package ? That just seems to be the frame turned upside down without any Lcd..not much you can do with that. If it was liquid damaged it should be first decontaminated and damage assessed. The fault may be with the screen, backlight/image circuits on the board or both. Considering the prices I’m seeing around for used iPhone SE, unless it’s just the screen (unlikely) I’d be very hesitant to suggest a logic board repair if not needed for data recovery.

The device is working fine, data is intact. It’s just that when i turn it on, the screen does not respond to any touches and theres white boxes around the bottom of the screen. Ive looked at all the other tear downs, it seems to me that I opened up the iPhone wrongly, separating the display and the EMI shielding of the display. Is that correct?

Water damaged phones have a nasty habit of having issues down the road. If the damage was minimal, you may be fine but beware latent issues. Make sure you have a backup copy of the data.

As for the phone, your screen has delaminated/separated and the LCD heat shield is still in the housing. You'll just have to pry it out (gently).

Thank you! What tool should i use to pry it out?

Something like this would be ideal, but anything similar you have around would do the job..at that stage you don't need to be very delicate. By the way, you remembered to remove pentalobe screws, right ?
