Phone freezes, lags, and gets stuck on blue screen.

Hey all I have a galaxy S7 edge and it freezes every so often. I could be using it and it ends up lagging and freezes and I will not be able to do anything with it. I have to either end up trying to get it into the blue screen that I can reboot it (it's like the blue screen with downloading in the middle) and sometimes I can't even do that so I wait for the phone to die. Phone been maybe 2 years old and not sure if I should just save up for another phone.
