Disc tray won't close!

So my brother recently gave me his old Xbox 360. It was working all fine and good until i got home today. I went to play it and it wouldn't open. So I got to the Xbox Help page and follow the instructions on how to open the tray manually. It takes a lot of tries but I finally manage to find where I needed to press. I get it open and watch a movie. When the movies over I went to go play a game, and the tray opens and then it wouldn't stay shut! I kept trying to shut it, it stays closed for a few seconds before popping out again. Is there anything I can do without having to take the whole thing apart?
