iPhone SE front camera works temporarily then stops

I have just replaced the full display of an iPhone SE which included the front camera and proximity sensor. The replacement screen says it’s compatible with both SE and 5S and it works just fine. My main issue is the front camera works when I first install it but if I close the app it stops working after that. I have no idea what the idea the issue is because it works at first. I’ve tried this three times but it does the same thing each time.

What is your exact problem? Can it not focus, does it show a black screen, or does it give the "Cannot take photo" error?

It's a black screen. It works as normal to begin with but then if I close the app it no longer works.

Hey @muhammadamer,

If your camera is not working, try these to fix it:

Inspect iPhone front and rear camera. Open a app to make video call, such as Skype, Facetime or Viber. Check if both the front and back camera are working fine during the video call. If so, you are facing a software problem that can be solved by yourself. If the camera still shows black screen, you may need to turn to Apple for help.

Press and hold the home button and power button until the Apple logo appears. The iPhone will now restart and you can now check the camera is working now or not.

Reset iPhone settings. Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Reset" > "Reset All Settings". This won't delete any files or apps on your iPhone but erase your preferred settings on the apps. After the reset, open the camera app and see if it works now.

Factory Reset iPhone. Go to "Settings" > "General" > "Reset" and choose "Erase All Content and Settings". This will delete all files and third-party apps on your iPhone so it should be the last resort. To not lose any data, back up your iPhone before factory reset.

If you need any help please reply to this answer.

Thanks,

John
