Domanda Chiusa

find MacBook Pro 15 model number

In another similar question:

MacBook Pro model 15"

the answer was look on the case. But my case is too worn. Inside the battery case the serial number is clear W88050D2XAG but when i run it thru Apple's model number finder

https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWar...

All it says is:

MacBook Pro (15-inch 2.4/2.2GHz)

Which is not the neat, simple A### that all repair instructions reference.

Further investigation:

MacBookPro3,1

MA895xx/A

This system profiler does not have the A### either!

How do i get the A###?

Why all this confusion between websites, cases, system profilers?

Does not answer either question.

"How do i get the A###?

"Why all this confusion between websites, cases, system profilers?" Why does Apple make it so ambiguous?

Incidentally Mayer, the next person who has a similar problem with a different Apple would gain little from your answer, in my respectful opinion.

The model number, A####, is printed on the bottom of all Apple laptops. There is a picture here.
