What Repair Parts Are Needed?

I believe I have an iPhone 6s/plus (please advise how I can tell). The audio jack in the bottom of the machine is worn out from use and need replacement. In a separate issue, the microphone in the bottom of the unit stopped working when the phone got wet, although the speaker function in the same location continues to work.

I would like to repair both the speaker and audio jack. However, I dropped the phone and cracked the display up near the top. Would changing the audio jack and microphone disturb the broken glass? If so, I would like to replace the glass.

Please let me know what parts I need to make these repairs.

Thank you

Lou Danzico

First how to know what kind of phone you have check the the model number on the back of your phone and usehttps://www.ifixit.com/Info/ID-your-iPho... to know what phone it is. For the headphone jack use thisiPhone 6s Plus Lightning Connector and Headphone Jack if its the iPhone 6S Plus. It will be hard to open the iPhone if the screen is cracked if you want to replace it use thisiPhone 6s Plus Screen only if it’s the iPhone 6S Plus.

Hi Lou,

The audio jack and microphones are all part of the lightning connector assembly. Parts and tools can be found here: iPhone 6s Plus Lightning Connector and Headphone Jack

This can job can be tedious, be sure to take your time.

As far as the glass is concerned.. Hypothetically you might be able to get a way with reusing the broken screen. I strongly advise against it. Usually cracks become worse during screen assembly removal.

Good Luck,

CW

Hi!!

If you are stuck on headphone mode (when you increase the volume it show headphone instead of volume)you would not be able to use your microphone also first thing you can do is a quick fix if it works for you. You first turn off your iphone and with a gentle hand you can pull out any dirt or particals inside your headphone jack with a pin then clean it with a cotton bud with a little acitone or alcohol ( Don’t use too much of alcohol only little would be fine orwise it could damage you display if it gets into your phone). Then after completing this process let it dry for a while and turn on your phone. I hope it works for you:) orthewise you have to replace your whole cc flex pannel.

If you have to replace it then you first paste a transparent tape on the broken glass so that it would be strengthen enough and won’t crack any more if you remove display carefully:)

Here you can get information about tools needed and process also iPhone 6s Plus Lightning Connector and Headphone Jack

Best of luck
