This is how I fixed the same issue on a 13” Pro some time back. Cleared from the insulation a small portion of the central wire of the two parts and soldered them together, put some UV curable rosin on the soldered part. Then I folded back the outer layer wires and soldered them together after folding the core wire. It can’t be straightened to avoid risk of shorting inner core/outer layers, thus it was just sandwiched between a couple kapton tape pieces. May not be very elegant but it worked out nicely in the end and it’s still working AFAIK.

Probably not the same thing.

Oh didn't catch on to the antenna cable yeah that needs a replacement screen.. With soldering from a reputable macbook repair shop it can be fixed.

The WiFi antenna is routed through the hinge along with the camera cable, which makes it impossible to replace without destroying the screen, you have to buy the whole top half of the computer.

Since the cables original in the display, you are talking about replacing the display.

Can one not remove just the glass to install a new cable assembly?

da

@tburns4 removing the glass usually involves destroy the LCD in the process. I haven’t seen anyone manage to not destroy the LCD yet.
