Why is my battery not charging?

Intro

So after my Original Apple Battery with around 700 Cycles was allready very bad I came to the conclusion to change my Battery.

Replacement Description

Ordered a battery on Amazon for 55€ replaced it (tough i didn’t reset the SMC, as i didn’t know what it was for).

All in all I didnt’t have any problems when replacing, had gloves on, didn’t use any metal - handled everything with love.

After Replacement

It worked for more than one week without Problems, the Capacity was really good it felt again like new to be honest. It charged up to 100%, i also got it once down to 30% but didn’t want to go any further

Problem description

After not using my Macbook for one day i came to the idea to turn it on Today. Guess what? It didn’t want to turn on —> I tought battery is at 0% or so.

Connected magSafe and startet using it —> After a Period i accidentally plugged the magSafe out of the power socket —> Macbook turns off.

I realized something was wrong and it started to feel strange :(

What i tried so far

• Tried to reset SMC several times. The magSafe LED changes (when i release the SMC-Reset combination From orange —> Green)

• Could turn on Macbook without a connected magSafe —> After abt. 5 Minutes Macbook turns off

• Opened Macbook —> Disconnected and reconnected BATTERY from Logicboad (With gloves on and no Metals have been used only plastic spudgers)

•Still the same. Didn’t work

• Tried to reset NPRAM or NVRAM (idk what’s it called)

• Tried to release SMC without a Battery attached (Didn’t function macbook instead turned on)

———

—> At all time, when the macbook was turned on an magSafe connected, the color of the magSafe LED is ORANGE (i don’t know if this info will help but im writing everything i know and did so far)

—> Coconut battery says that battery had no failures and is NOT being charged @0Watts @28.5Celsius ( around 85 Fahrenheit)

Now my macbook is under the bed with the Logicboard being DISCONNECTED from Battery and NO magSafe connected … :(

Possibilities include: Cheap no-name battery from Amazon, damaged DC-in board (sometimes related to cheapo batteries), broken AC-adapter (MagSafe) cable/connector. About This Mac -> System Report -> Power will tell all about battery and charging circuit. (Just remember to refresh or re-open window after every change to get accurate results.) Recommend NuPower replacement batteries from OWC ($88U.S.)

Im not a pro at macs so ill ask if the DC is damaged, will it than run with a magSafe connected

magSafe should be fine as it is running when connected on magSafe just fine

Battery was around 60$ (55€)

So how big is the possibility that the battery is broken ?

Review this Apple T/N Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters Make sure you are using a real Apple charger and the correct one for your system. Also make sure the cord and the MagSafe connector is not damaged and the socket is not melted.
