Touch Screen Went Crazy!

I have iPhone SE that I bought 2nd handed.

Each time the battery charged beyond 70%, the touch is a lil bit crazy, it will jump a lil. So I brought it to repair shop because I came pretty late, so they cannot fully diagnosed the problem.

But for sure they tried to use a tool that read the ampere. They said it normal phone should charge around 0.90A while mine is around 0.70A… So they came with 3 temporer diagnostic,

  1. The battery
  2. The charging port
  3. IC charging

If someone of you know or had or have the same problem and know the culprit or got it fixed already, please tell me what happened to my phone.

I really need your answer.

Thank you.

What the shop told you is essentially correct. The charging current should be higher than 0.7A if the battery is fully depleted. As it charges up, the current will go down but when initially charging, it should be around 1A.

So if you consider this a charge related issue, the main things to look at are, in order, the battery, the charge port and finally the charge circuit (logic board). Each problem is different and the only way to properly identify the root cause it to replace suspected modular component with high quality, preferably known-good parts. A shop can easily do this because they have multiple replacement spares and usually other devices laying around to test out replacement parts if in doubt. If you want to try this yourself, then the issue is that it’s sometimes hard to know if the replacement battery of charge port you have ordered is 100% functional.

Well... I thought the same and still think the same, I think the battery is the culprit since I got it 2nd handed and when he opened, he told me the battery had been replaced because it is glued down with double-sided sticker.

But do you think it is because the charging port? I didn’t have enough time there because the shop was almost its closing time..

And I don’t have any spare parts laying around to test.

And, do you think because the voltage is a little bit low so it affects the touchscreen?

The first thing to try is the battery. If you want to do this yourself, you will have to buy the parts upfront and take the risk that it doesn't solve your problem. If you don't want to take that risk, let the shop tech figure it out for you.

Do you think that it is not because the ic charging? Because I am not that sure either... I don’t want to waste money too much.

Oh and my battery is not consistent, if I restart, the percentage may change.

I ask the store and the ic may be broken...

Ghost touch is pretty much always the screen when I have the problem.

But the ghost touch only occurs when the battery is charging above 70%.

Do you guys have any idea about the symptoms if the IC is broken?
