Won't power on with 60 watt but will with 85 watt MagSafe2 charger?

So I have a A1502 Late 2013 and Early 2015 with me at the moment.

If I unplug the battery they won’t power on without a 85 Watt charger? Is this normal?

Review the required charger here: Find the right power adapter and cable for your Mac notebook You do need to use the correct charger for your system as the wattage needs to be equal or larger than what the system requires.

Did someone alter your MagSafe charger cable? The MagSafe & MagSafe2 chargers offer out different voltages.

So you need a new battery! You'll need to do that. No matter what charger you use.

I have both chargers mag safe 2 60w and 85w, the charger for these models is the 60w but as i mentioned if removing the battery only the 85w charger will make them turn on. so i will ask again is this normal?

No, it's not. As long as you are using original Apple MagSafe2 chargers.

Sorry i should of said i had the 85w charger now i only have the 60w charger as i sold a macbook and gave the 85w with it. The problem is that the 2013 the battery is stuffed so thats why i am asking this question as now i cant get it to turn on, so i tested with the 2015 and it has the same effect it wont turn on, But i have to admit the charger i a have is the mag safe 1 60w with a mag safe 2 genuine adapter. this could possibly be the issue. Thought it does charge it fine.

Lack of clarity in your question distorts the answers people offer.

In some macs lower voltage chargers are not capable of charging so you require a high voltage charger for charging or switch on the computer as required by the system however high voltage doesn’t help you to charge faster and neither do it will harm the computer on long life may be you see an effect.
