Is this screen damage repairable?

Hi there, I have a 2017 macpro 13" that I purchased new a few months ago.

I spilled a glass of water over the key board the other night. I quickly flipped it over, powered down and dried it off, let it sick a couple day before powering it back on. everything but the screen seems to be working fine. I'll attach the picture to show what my screen currently looks like.

I didn't purchase any extra warrantees and don't think water damage would be covered anyways.

Am I totally screwed? Anyone else see this before?

Thanks

Anthony

That looks like trapped water / moisture between the cover glass and the actual LCD.

First be certain the screen functions in that area: open “something” and drag into / through the area. That I can see the “settings” and “terms” text in your pict is hopeful.

Grab a hair drier and WARM it from center to outside.

If image ok, leave it up while warming. You “should” see the fogged area receding.

Don’t get it hot, don’t try to fix it in one pass.

You’re forcing evaporation and it won’t always go where you want. Patience isn’t a virtue here, it’s a necessity.

Also literally inverting the unit may have allowed water to enter the screen space. Any keyboard contamination should be to hold the keyboard off vertical away from the circuitry area and the screen Way above it. Awkward as it is at this angle, Shut It Down.

The problem with MacBook Pro retina models is that you cannot remove the LCD and access stuff underneath. On older models you could carefully peel off the LCD panel and replace the backlight, newer models will shatter no matter what you do because the LCD is weaker than the adhesive strip holding it in place. Now you can only try to let it dry by itself and hoping the water stain will fade away.

I'm not suggesting disassembly, just warm in place.
