Computer turns on but the screen stays black
Can you turn the computer on the screen never pops on but you can hear the fan running
it is a iMac 2009

It was the pram battery I fixed it yessss

That sounds like your GPU is gone. Let’s try this press and hold the T key go get into Target Disk Mode, Do you see a FireWire icon on your display? If you do then your dedicated GPU has failed.

I found out is was the pram battery easy fix.

Thank you I will try this. It is crazy cause when I power up the iMac it doesn’t chime on at all fans runs on high and stays dark.
