Just replaced my LCD screen and digitizer assembly. I note the following things. When I turn on the screen it turns on but starts dark and then brightens. I have checked all connections and connectors (pics attached). However the digitizer does not work.
I noted from reviews of this product from this seller that the digitizer not working was a common issue. Did I just get a bad part?

It may very well be you received a faulty replacement..the connectors in the pictures look clean and shiny. Check them also on lcd side to see everything is fine and if your old screen was still functional you can reinstall that one temporarily to make sure it’s not a phone issue.

So that was the issue in the first place. I dropped the phone on a hard tile floor. When I attempted to turn on the phone I received the unwelcome sight of red and black vertical lines. After some research I determined the LCD/Digitizer to be broken. Despite the screen being broken, I received notifications without issues and other phone functions seemed to work fine. I ordered the compatible part and installed it. I was greeted with a seemingly fully functioning device except for the touch screen. Unfortunately the other screen is damaged, but the vendor is planning to send me another part. When looking on the phone I could find no other damage so just hoping it's a bad part.

So replaced the LCD/Digitizer 2x now. Both times visually the screen works fine. However, the digitizer does not work. In both cases the replacement went fine. What's wrong? I've double/triple/quadruple checked the connections, could they still not be right? What else could I try. Did I break the touch IC? not sure what this is and some quick research shows I can't fix it... what is the typical cost of such a repair?
