there could be multiple reasons for that. Check your input sources first. Try all different sources (Coax, Composite, HDMI etc.) to rule out those as an issue As th1 already mentioned, the first check would be done with a flashlight. In a darkened room and teh TV on a station where you have sound, shine a flashlight beam at an angle against the screen. Check if you can see silhouettes etc. If so, it is possible that you have a bad power board or bad LED backlight strips. If not, then it is possible that your mainboard is not providing a signal for the power board to turn the backlight on. You would have to check the power board connectors for the voltage output. Lastly you want to check the T-con board and see if you get 12V on the fuse.. Your Samsung should turn the backlight on if your disconnect the cable from the power board to the main board.
