Wont turn on and pc does not detect

Hi guys, I have a friend’s iphone 6s that I am trying to fix.

It will not turn on at all or be recognised by itunes (or 3utools for that matter). Have tried disconnecting the battery and trying soft resets on both mains and pc power but no response…

Is this a case of replacing battery/lightning assembly or is it the board like I suspect? (I am new to this!)

Do you have access to a multimeter? If you do, you could measure the voltage directly at the battery. If charged even somewhat, it should read anywhere from 3V to 4.2V. The closer (or lower) it is to 3V, then it will not have enough power to boot the phone.

You can use a USB Ammeter to determine if the phone is really drawing current when it says it's charging.

If the battery is depleted or doesn’t take a charge, then consider replacing the battery to see f that helps. If it doesn’t solve the problem, then you may have a bad Lightning Port or a logic board issue which would require a micro-soldering repair.

I do have access to one, where do i take the reading from?? I was considering purchasing a cheap usb ammeter to test aswell! However I disconnected the battery and tried charging it from the mains and that didnt work so I thought that would rule out the battery? I basically want to narrow it down to either being the lightning port or the logic board? Lightning port I can replace but if it’s a logic board issue I will probably leave it as it may not be worth it (depending on cost of course!)
