iMac runs Ok in safe mode but hangs up in normal mode, spinning wheel
Hi All,
iMac runs Ok in safe mode but hangs up in normal mode, spinning wheel after a very few minutes of operation. No keyboard combinations will shut it off. Hard shutdown with power button on back.
OS X El Capitan version 10.11.6,
upgraded to 8GB Memory a couple months ago, June 2018 I think, also had a video card failure about the same time
OS X El Capitan10.11.6
Ran same tests in a Terminal Window you did Oct 3 , 2013 with Lerobroy:
open_IRlZWYE.txt returned “HPEventHandler, HP Scheduler”
open_XK88NYvY.txt returned
/System/Library/Extensions/MacOSXCameraDriver.kext
and also
/System/Library/Extensions/hp_qc_io_enabler.kext
Is the extension “kext” for a kernel file?
Ran FirstAid on boot sector (?) WDC WD1001FALS-40K1BO Media returned this note though operation was successful.
”Problems were found with the partition map which might prevent booting”
Ran same test Boot sector of back up drive “Seagate FA GoFlex Desk Media” and got same note as with main iMac HDD boot sector; probably not surprising ?
I do have an HP printer connected connected in Bluetooth, Fujitsu Scanner USB
I do notice in safe mode, while booting up the screen is terribly slow to refresh but that maybe a function of Safe Mode? In operation in Safe Mode video is very choppy
Questa è una buona domanda?
