You’ll need to have the connector replaced however that will require a micro-soldering repair and is not a DIY type of repair.
As for repair, look locally for a reputable shop that does micro-soldering repairs. Ideally, you want to find someone local but good workmanship trumps locality. There are many shops worldwide that do this so you shouldn't have any problems finding them.
If you can't find one locally, then consider mail-in repair. There are several reputable micro-solderers patrolling this forum.

has anyone got a good idea for a quick fix as I am going to upgrade it soon, just waiting for x-mas sales.
Well, if you show us a picture of the actual connector, we may have some ideas. But if the connector is damaged, it will have to be replaced.
If you can find the friction bar, you may be able to re-insert it. Otherwise, you'll have to replace the connector.
