Why do top row F keys on replaced keyboard not work after login?
Strangest thing - I replaced the keyboard on my Macbook Pro A1278 because of some bad keys; boots up fine, all keys function normally on login screen, including screen/keyboard brightness, etc. AFTER I log in, the top row of keys no longer function properly - screen brightness causes “flash” of screen, pressing volume key(s) results in “Expose” function being activated… all other keys seem to work fine and do what they’re supposed to do. What’s going on here? Is it a defective keyboard? The initial correct behavior would suggest not a hardware problem… to add to the confusion, when logging in to SOME accounts, the first time in, everything seems to work fine! Already did a SW upgrade - no joy. Reboot results in correct keyboard operation again until I log in. Anyone have any idea what’s happening here? How to fix it? Thank you!
