I done a charging port, like many before. But this time, the customer then said, when calls are made on the phone, it's very distorted on the other end, do you can't hear the person.
So tried another port, same thing . Unchecked noise cancelling, but still the same thing.
Used voice memo app. And that works perfect?
Any ideas? Thanks

That’s odd because phone calls and Voice Memos both use the same microphone (according to Apple).
There are 3 microphones in the iPhone.

Make sure you update your device to the latest version of iOS and then try to isolate which microphone is not working properly by trying each individual microphone with the related apps above. Check the microphone port holes for dust and debris which could be attenuating the sound.
If the issue affects more than one microphone, then it could be the Audio Codec IC on the logic board. Anything at the logic board level will require micro-soldering so you would need to find a repair shop that offers those services.

Is it possible that some adhesive or other debris got stuck in the hole for the microphone at the bottom?
Voice memo uses the microphone at the top of the screen by the earpiece.
