My games will play, but my friends games won't

My ps3 used to have a power issue, where it would take forever to turn on, well, I solved that issue after finding out that it’s because the machine get’s too cold and the thermal compound was shrinking. But now, I found another issue with it. It will play and run all of my disk games perfectly fine and for as long as I need too, but, once I tried to borrow Star Wars the Force Unleashed from my friend, it played for a while, and then seized up, crashed my system, and restarted itself, displaying the screen it shows when it didn’t turn off correctly and it needs to check the system for any corrupted files. Then, I borrowed Red Dead Redemption, and it played for a little while, but ended up doing the same thing. I tried cleaning the disks, but they were in better condition than mine as is. And, just tonight, I borrowed Guitar Hero World Tour and Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock, and both the disks had the exact same effect. The disks are all in great condition and they are all BLUS disks like all of mine, so what could be going on?
