I replaced the screen and home button now the home button inop.

I replaced the screen on this iPad air2 and the home button. During testing the home button will click, but does not bring me back to home screen. Help

You need to take a close look a the Home Button flex cable and the connector. It is possible that it is either improperly connected or damaged. Even a slight tear will cause issues.
