Apple Cinema display stand to Thunderbolt display replacement

After replacing one of my cinema displays to thunderbolt I realized that 2014 (thunderbolt) model doesn’t have option to remove stand…

So my question: Is Stand from 2007-2011 Cinema display is compatible with newer thunderbolt display, in other words is it possible to replace stand from 2007-2011 model to a newer ? (I don’t have issues taking both apart as long as it fits).

The reason I’m asking: I have two Ergotech Freedom Arm for iMac 2007-2011 and would be nice to have both in place.

P.S I don’t want to purchase one of those ugly Versa mounts which simply wraps around the stand, but you still have the stand attached… Appreciate any help

Your display is able to use the older Apple VESA mount kit YouTube - Apple VESA Mount Adapter Unboxing and Install

Please read question before posting... 2014 Thunderbolt Display doesn’t have option to remove stand...

Then you have the LED Cinema display (A1316) {has a DisplayPort connector with USB cable to support built-in USB hub} not the Thunderbolt (A1407) {has a Thunderbolt connector to support built-in DP & USB ports}

Ok... 2014 Thunderbolt Display model doesn’t have option to slide plastic card and unscrew stand, the only way to remove it, is to take whole monitor apart.

I also have broken 2010 Cinema Display that has this option (which is easy to connect with VERSA mounts)... so I want to know if it’s easy to take stand from 2010 and put it on 2014 (so I could connect VERSA)

If you have a A1407 it does! Apple never offered the Thunderbolt without the removable stand. I'm betting you just have a messed up latch so you can't get to it.

The A1316 European model had a few that for some reason didn't have a removable foot, that I've seen!

I've added the VESA mount on over 40 displays back in the day and I never encountered a Thunderbolt 27" model that didn't have the removable foot.

OK, lets say the latch is messed up then you'll need to take the display almost completely apart to get the latch from the inside. You may need to replace the hinge piece. I've never tried swapping the pieces so I just don't know if the 20" parts will work in the 27" unit.

Like Dan said above, you can use the VESA mount sold from Apple, but your older stand will not be compatible.
