Vizio tv sound cuts out every 15 seconds.

I have a 3 year old vizio m551d-a2 and recently the sound started cutting out. Every 15 seconds or so the sound cuts out for a full second and comes right back. It does this from the moment I turn the tv on. Everything else is fine when the sound cuts. The video continues playing as usual. I've tried turning off any audio settings that might be the cause including the volume leveling and so far nothing has worked. Im just trying to figure out if I should buy replacement speakers or if there is another solution. Thanks in advance.

I found if I go to settings and with the tv on HDMI 1 go to picture and then to input picture settings and the to hdmi mode and select compatibility. Mine was on auto and when I switched it I haven’t had any issues.

yes, I would check the speakers as well. You can always temporarily hook up some speakers to where the original speaker is. If that does not change it and if you checked all your settings, it could very well be an error with the audio IC on the main board. A reflow or a repalcement of the board would most likely fix that.Disassemble your TV and take a look at the boards. See if you can spot any obvious damage. Thanks for the prompt reply. I haven't gotten around to dissassembling the tv yet and checking the board. I did hook up a sound bar from another room though to test if the sound issue persisted and this fixed the issue. Does this mean it is the speakers or could it still be the main board?

So I went to my tv settings where I would find the different picture modes like game picture sport etc... Set the setting to sport so your tv is in sport . This should fix your problems. I use a ps4 and watch YouTube and this started happening. All good now I put my T.V. IN SPORT in the scene select options on TV .

I changed my speaker setting from auto to on and so far so good. Seems to have stopped the audio cut out mine would cut out every so often
