Can't Restore iPhone 5

I have an Iphone 5 that used to work perfectly fine until one day when charging it just powered off and started a boot loop. I thought it was a software problem so I plugged it into my computer and tried to restore it but it just kept giving me error 21. So I checked some forms and they said just replace the battery so that’s what I did. I fix phones for people so this wasn’t anything new, but after I replaced the battery the phone will not open unless plugged in and when I tried to restore it again it said the iphone can’t be found. I can’t seem to figure out what the problem is

These iPhone’s Logic Board sometimes get a little confused when hardware changes occur. What I mean is the Logic Board stores information about the other hardware that exists. When it is changed and not properly re-installed the boards become diagnosed with dementia. The error message that you received with iOS error 21 means that you are attempting to install a custom IPSW iOS image to the device that is not supported by the owner of the signed certificate. The owner of the certificate is Apple, so they are denying the image because it probably isn’t safe.

To fix this you need to remove the battery connector and hold the power button for 8-10 seconds to drain the remaining power. This completely allows the board to reset so that it can recognize the new hardware upon restart. After this is complete you will need to put the iPhone into Recovery Mode. Hold the “Home Button” while the phone powers on. Once the screen shows that the iPhone needs to be connected to iTunes you will need to plug the device in to a computer. Open iTunes and the device should appear. Begin the restore message, if you can don’t take a backup so that you can set the device up as a new image. Then enter the iPhone into DFU mode which utilize the Software Updater to update the phones EFI firmware.
