Data recovery from late 2013 MBP SSD
My late 2013 model MacBook Pro Retina 15” got wet when we had a pipe burst and won’t power on at all. I’ve purchased a 2015 model to replace it.
I’ve removed the SSD from the 2013 laptop, have an mSATA to SATA adapter (with 2 USB plugs), and have been trying to get the new laptop to read the old drive. I keep getting a message saying the the USB device is drawing too much power.
Your thoughts are appreciated.
Sure thing. Here’s a link to the item:

Thank you!

Can you give us the details of the adapter you are trying to use. I suspect you have the wrong one.

Adapters are always a caveat with these Apple blade Ssd and it might be your culprit in this case. However, I'd ask for @danj help, he's probably the most knowledgeable Pro in this field.

Copy that. Thank you!

Thanks, All. We have an identical situation with my husband's MacBook Pro, but his is an older model--its a 2010. I would try to read that hard drive from my new (2015) laptop.
Thanks again.
