I bought an iPhone 7 Plus off of eBay and once the phone was shipped, turns out that the iPhone’s front and back camera do not work. They both are black when I open the camera app. FaceTime, my screen is just blank. On Snapchat , it says “Sorry, we can’t access your camera.” Any clue what’s wrong and what I can do? Maybe a replacement? I’m not sure.

The Front Camera will only work when there is a functional Rear Camera so you need to focus on the Rear Camera for now. It may be a defective camera unit or the problem could be logic board related. The only way to find out is to install a known-good Rear Camera to see. Unfortunately, the cost of a replacement Rear Camera is quite high and in my opinion, this is not something you should take responsibility for. I would open a dispute on eBay and have the phone refunded/returned.

Im so very glad someone responded , I received money for a new camera from the seller. I know how to fix phones but i just wanted to be sure of an answer before I started poking around. I’m thinking a “For Parts” iPhone 7 Plus so that I know it works.
