Why won't the phone boot with a new screen?

I just had a client bring an iPhone 7 plus and it wouldn't get past the Apple screen when I replaced the screen. I tried two more screens and it still wouldn't get past the Apple screen with any of them. I let them sit for 5 or 10 minutes but it would show the apple logo, flicker like ot was going to boot them just go back to the apple logo.

I plugged the old screen in and it booted right away. I transferred the components back over to the original screen and turned it on- and it took forever to boot again but finally did! When it did, the home button would read my fingerprint but wouldn't push back like it should have.

I've done a couple hundred screen repairs so I don't think I did anything wrong. Is this a new IOS issue? Any ideas? I'm about ready to close up shop! I'm tired of Apple.

If the iPhone does not “see” the home button in the iPhone 7, it takes a long time to boot. Very long time.

Or the screen itself may be defective in a way that’s preventing the iPhone from fully booting.

The missing home button is again either a defect in the old screen = you tore it; or damage to the home button itself. It is usually fixable. You would at least have to go over it with a microscope or good magnifying glass, looking for tears; and/or check the connector of the home button in diode mode and compare to known good to detect and correct any discrepancies. If everything checks out, you’d need to reball the Turtle chip (glass chip on the home button cable) to rule out a bad joint underneath it due to flexing when being removed.

Is it an Apple OEM display? iOS is known to have issues with 3rd party displays. Try updating the phone to the latest operating system via iTunes. Put the iPhone in DFU mode.
