Startup chime, white screen, no logo, NVRAM does not work

Hi everyone,

After I replaced the keyboard of my Macbook pro 2012 unibody, the macbook is stuck in the white screen without logo. I tried to rest NVRAM, but it is still white screen after I released the buttons and hear the second chime.

Then I thought it might be a hard drive cable problem, I replaced it with a new one. But still the same problem, stuck in white screen, no logo, and NVRAM does not work.

I am nor sure if there is any thing else I can do. Really appreciate any advice or help. Thank you very much!

Disconnect the display ribbon cable and plug in an external one is the external screen still white?

I use a thunderbold-to-hdmi adapter to connect the external screen , and the external screen receives signal but is completely black, showing nothing.

I think Dan wants you to try to boot from an external source rather than the internal one, nit the display.

I tried to press 'Option' button and choose the external drive, but still white screen. I can not choose the external drive. Thank you.

Nope, I really did mean the display ;-} Can you give it a try with an external display.

@mayer - Had one just like this the other week and it drove me bonkers.

@danj I did try the external display using a thunderbolt-to-hdmi adapter. Interestingly, the external display receives signal but shows nothing, just black screen.
