Why have I replaced my power supply board and screen still goes black?

I have a Vizio 550I-B2 LWJ2PPAQ Tv. One day screen went black but had sound. I never could see any semblance of pic with flashlight check. I replaced power supply board - tv booted up and picture went black with sound in 5 minutes. I will attach images of original and new power supply as well as LED driver. One capacitor looks crooked but unsure if that means anything. 16 pin connection looks fine.

Check CN101, CN201 and CN202 with a multimeter. See if you get the voltages that are needed from you board.

Check CN101, CN201 and CN202 with a multimeter. See if you get the voltages that are needed from your board. This "tv booted up and picture went black with sound in 5 minutes." is usually an LED issue, so check/replace your LED driver board (if your power board supplies the right voltageto it (CN201/CN202)). The only thing after that is your main board.

There can be a number of reasons for a black screen, but the most common is a failure of the back light. This can be a power problem where the LEDs don't get power or even an LED or two being open and thus not lighting. The fact that no picture was seen with a flashlight concerns me a bit. This may indicate that the TV is being told to produce a black screen. If so, than this may be a problem with the logic board (the one under the shield in the pictures.)

Some poking around with a meter is called for here. If you feel comfortable doing this, update this posting and we'll provide more instructions on what to check.

Jolee, did you get this fixed? I replaced the power board but still nothing. I can see with a flashlight that the tv is on though?

Similar answer for you. A single LED can be out or a strip. It can also be a component failure on the LED driver board. Check the voltages as suggested by Oldturkey03 as well.

I'm in the same boat. I replaced the power board. And I can't get my tv remote to work. I hate to trash the tv, but this is frustrating. BSOD!

@John Todd what make and model is your TV? Why did you replace the power board? what were the symptoms before you changed it and what are the symptoms now?

@ozzie72 "no backlight but can see Pic with flashlight: good indication that this is your backlight array that has failed. Definitely fixable but a PITA
