Why does my phone keep restarting?

Hi! My mother-in-law's rear camera was shaking and really blurry when she tried to take a picture. I replaced the camera and it was working fine, but when I tried to put the original screen back on, the connections seemed to be missaligned--every time I would get verticle lines on my screen or have other issues (This wasn't overly suprising because I know this logic board has a screen connector issue). I replaced the screen, but the proximity sensor wasn't working so I transfered her original components over to a new screen and put that on and the screen looked fine, but the original proximity still wouldn't work.

Anyway-- my biggest problem is that it just keeps randomly resetting itself. Sometimes it will stay on for a few minutes, some times just 30 seconds or so and the battery level fluctuates anywhere between 1% and 16%. The next morning I unplugged the battery and plugged it back in and then it seemed to function like normal for about an hour then it started crashing again.

It is worth mentioning that I have replaced the battery in this phone twice in March or April when my Mother-in-law dropped it and the battery wouldn't charge past 1%. A week later she dropped it again and it started crashing like this. I replaced the battery again and it's been fine until now.

I've tried soft resets and a factory restore and it is still crashing. She also updated to IOS 11.4 about a week ago.

Any suggestions?

There are so many issues, it's hard to know what to tackle first.

Battery: If the battery level is fluctuating between 1% and 16%, that sounds like a bad battery. To be certain, use a battery utility, such as coconutBattery (for Mac) or 3uTools (for Windows). It will tell you what the health of the battery is. Anything less than 70% of design capacity will require replacement. You can also use the Battery Health Diagnostic (Settings\Battery\Battery Health (Beta)) in iOS 11.3 and above. It will tell you what the health of the battery is.

Resetting: If the battery is in poor shape and goes below 80% of design capacity, iOS will throttle performance if the phone experiences an unexpected shutdown. You can read more about this at the following Apple Support page (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208387).

Proximity Sensor: This could just be a misalignment issue, it can be tricky to get everything lined up when rebuilding the FCAM/Sensor assembly within the screen. Check out this guide.

I put a different screen on it, but I still need to replace the proximity sensor. It looks like the battery is operating at 51%. Thank you!
