Cannot press the 4s home button after replacement

Hello guys, I am having a weird problem that is really confusing me. Changed the home button for my old iPhone 4s but when I close the screen and screw all the screws back the home button is always in pressed down state. It is not pressable at all because there is no room for movement. Don't know what went wrong. What should I do to prevent this from happening?

Had you tried to check the microswitch itself? Try to operate phone with screen slightly lifted up - home button pads should not connect with device.

also chech if they are not dirty or shorted

Multimeter connected to button output will be also usefull for you

Checked and the switch itself works fine, button presses easily. But when I close the screen, button immediatly gets stuck and hard to press down. There is just not enough room for the up and down movement for the home button when the phone is assembled. Weird..

It can be that you used wrong screws to mount your elements. Chech the iFixit teardown and measure (or line them up and go from smallest ;)) those screws that you've removed. Those little differences could crack your screen or unglue plastic covers on back.

Please mind to write if you had mounted button metal cover properly. Additionally chech those metal frames that comes from LCD cover, and those "clips" inside of device.

I'm guessing now, but mess on top of frame could done some stresses that are causing your button to stuck.

Most likely this is being caused by the screen not sitting right in the mid frame. Loosen screws securing screen and make sure everything is aligned. When re-tightening do not apply pressure to either screen or mid frame. have the assembly resting on a hard surface and tighten the screws.
