Why can I not see the cursor on my new TV set? My controller is synced

My controllers worked fine until I changed tv set - i don't remember ever having an infrared sensor bar... and now my controllers don't show the cursor even after I synced them. Any ideas?

Hi,

What is the make and model number of your TV?

Have you connected the sensor bar to the console?

Here's a troubleshooting link that may be of some help.

It does mention that not all games have a cursor.

Hi,

The full model number would be a help.

How are you connecting tho the TV, AV cable (red/white/yellow) or Component cable (red/green/blue +red/white)?

Cheers

Hi Jayeff much appreciate your support - full model is UE49MU6402 and I connected an AV cable (red/white/yellow) , there is a slot for a yellow cable on the actual tv and a triple cable connector given with the tv set connecting to the wii av cable

Hi,

Still checking but Nintendo does say in the setup guide to use their cable "only" when connecting to a TV.

This quote is from the this link. (see section "connecting to a TV")

"The Wii console will not work with any AV cable other than the model supplied with your Wii system or the component AV cable listed below."

Can you connect the Nintendo cable directly to the TV to see if it works OK?

i understand - this is the only way to connect the Wii to this TV, they provide a connector with one yellow jack to the TV which only has one yellow in AV, splitting to three receiving jacks for the three Wii cables with respective colors...

kynigos ,

The wii remote cursor uses the sensor bar to know where the remote is pointing.

You can buy one from ifixit or any supplier to regain the ability to get the cursor.

I hope this helps,

hey Charlie B - thanks, the problem is I live in Greece and the link sends me to a European store which has no nintendo parts... any other place I can find the sensor bar?

Hi @ kynigos,

Just search online for Nintendo Wii sensor bar to get results for suppliers.

Here's an example of a search on Ebay UK just to give an idea of the cost etc.
