I broke lid lock on my Maytag washer. If i use screwdriver down lid lock hole and push in button, it will wash but wont rinse or spin put. Can i disconnect the lid lock and still use my washer???

I believe disconnecting the switch will result in no action. The switch wires have to be connected together to allow the washer to run if I am not mistaken. Keep people with long hair (also dangling jewelry and loose clothing articles) away from the washer when it is running if you make this change to it!!!!!! Those switches are readily available on the internet for very cheap so I think I would go ahead and fix it correctly.

The switches on a Maytag Bravo are expensive. They are over $115.00 Canadian with shipping. Not sure where they are very cheap.
Will my Maytag washer still wash and rinse and spin without the lock button, my lock button is broken off ..
