Best way to attach logic broad to back of LCD panel

I have a monitor where the logic board can move in freely case after opening it I can see all the tape that was holding it place has been ripped and all the plastic pins that hold in place are broken. So I am thinking fully taping the board down, but I am not sure if regular duct tape will melt/burn in there. I am tempted to just use gaffer tape to hold it together.

Consider using electrical tape. If you do go ahead and use tape, avoid taping over heatsinks. Taping over heatsinks will reduce the ability of the passive components to dissipate heat.

Also, make sure the back of the board is insulated from the metal shell of the LCD. You dont want to go through the effort of taping the driver board to the LCD shell and then turn on the lcd and short it out. There should be a layer or sheet of plastic for insulation of the board from the case. If that's not there, use electrical tape. Good luck!

Dijkstra I prefer to attach my boards with velcro. Check this guide Universal Backlight Inverter step 14 to see how I attach the boards. that way I do not have to worry about overheating or the tape becoming loose.

Huh. That's an interesting idea! I never thought of using velcro. Its thick enough that you don't have to worry about through hole pins poking through and shorting to the case, and it should be insulative enough as well. I wonder if the velcro serves as a source of static though. I can imagine it's not that big of a deal if you install the velcro in an applied state. Good input!
