force touch not working

Hi there, I recently dropped my watch accidentally and broke the display, I ordered a new display and touch sensor gasket, and followed the helpful videos on ifixit to complete the replacement. Everything went alright and the watch was functioning to spec. Then last week I updated watchOS to 4.2.3 and the force touch stopped working. I’m not sure if this has anything to do with the replacement repair I did or with the OS update. Just to note, I slightly bent the center connector (from the 3 that connect the watch case to the display) while trying to insert it back into the new display, I straightened it back before inserting it securely again. Would that have caused any problem with force touch? thank you
