Screen has white spots, damaged after using isopropylic alcohol

Hello there.

So my problem is that the keyboard got soaked in isopropylic alcohol. Reason for this is because the keyboard was sticky after someone spilled coca cola on it. Logic board and other parts were taken out to be cleaned etc and the mac was functioning fine until someone decided to try to make the keyboard less sticky by removing all parts inside(logic board, speakers fans etc) and then go forward to using isopropylic alcohol on the keyboard.

This also did work very good as nearly none of the keys are sticky anymore.

Though this then created a more expensive problem. I somehow think that either the steam from the evaporated isopropylic alcohol got into the lcd or rather maybe actually liquid came inside(though i dont know how this has happened as the mac wasen't upside down or anything. This created some very good looking white spots on the LCD. And im kind of guessing that the LCD is now forever "broken"

If you look at the pictures you can now see what im left with.

So on a scale from 0 - RIP how F'ed is the lcd screen now ? And is there actually anything you can do ? Or are we talking a new retina screen ?

As a really really REALLY long shot, if you can find or build a vacuum chamber big enough for the laptop you can try putting it in there, applying gentle heat, and see if it dissipates. This assumes you're right about the alcohol vaporizing and such, and what you're seeing is the result of liquid (re-condensed) alcohol in the screen. I put this at maybe .01% odds.

Otherwise, RIP. New panel.

Hmm, interesting idea, might give that a try, as if i have any other choices.

And yes, the screen was working perfectly fine before this. I at least have no other explanation.

Only problem was the keyboard, and stupidity created a bigger expensive problem.

.01% odds? Challenge accepted. Though il probably wait and see if any other ideas as well comes up.

Thanks for your suggestion.

In a pinch, maybe put it inside a shallow plastic bin, then put that inside of one of those "Space Bag"-type storage bags. The bin will provide some structure to allow more air to escape as you vacuum it closed. Good luck.

I am facing the same problem, did the problem resolve using heat or vacuum or you got a new panel?
