New battery dead phone
Using an iFixit battery and tools, I replaced my old iPhone 6 battery today. I’m an overly cautious, detail oriented, instructions following perfectionist. I was observed by the man who gave me those qualities, who has done a battery replacement of his own. I have reconnected everything twice. I currently have the old battery plugged into the phone and plugged into the charger. My screen is dead. No signs of life. I plugged the new battery in on the charger for upwards of ten minutes twice in case it was dead. The screen won’t even show me the super low battery icon.
Did I just buy myself a new phone?
Questa è una buona domanda?
@benjamen50 - the old battery wouldn’t hold a charge very long, I had to keep the phone plugged in to use it at all. It died while plugged in yesterday, so I psyched myself up to just change the battery and not worry about the fact that I couldn’t back up the phone.
I have connected the screen several times and cannot get even the low battery icon to appear, even if it is plugged in, using either the new battery or the old battery.

Ok, I see what the issue is now. If you can't get apple logo right now with battery unplugged then the tristar charging chip needs to be changed.
Only people that do microsoldering can replace the chip. About average $80-$120 to replace the chip.
