Changed lid lock now it won’t close at all
I have an amana washer that would fill up and stop lock wouldn’t engage so I got a new lock switch part number was 10682535 new one is 10838613?and now it won’t close any ideas?

@jammin did you check that the locks are identical (at least pretty similar) to each other? Is there a possibility that the new assembly prevents it from closing? Who's part number are those? Where did you order from?

The part numbers are whirlpool lid lock parts when u compare them the new one (8613) is identical just smaller spring and smaller everything but not different should I try a different one?

Or should I try and find the lid insert that matches the one I just replaced?
