iPhone SE not turning on, charging or responding to iTunes!

Hey guys,

So my phone had to be placed properly in order to charge which was because it had some fluff in the charging port (I only found that out after it stopped working and I cleaned it).

I dropped my iPhone SE about 2 weeks ago and the very top of the screen where the camera is at cracked and some of the glass fell out so I can see the camera, the little speaker thing and the thing which connects the screen to the phone I think but the phone worked fine with no issues.

I was at my friends house and we were chilling. My phone died and I left it on charge in one of his rooms which was freezing cold and when I left it there before we went to bed it was charging.

In the morning I woke up and I went to get my phone and it wasn't turning on.

So I got home and I cleaned the charging port tried charging it for a few hours and nothing really happened. I watched vids and I tried doing a reset and what not, holding both buttons and nothing helped. I tried connecting it to my PC and iTunes just didn't react to that.

So could you please tell me what could be wrong with it because I really don't wanna give it to someone to repair because it will cost me a lot, just wanna try and do it myself.

Thank you!!

A dead phone could be caused by a dead or extremely weak battery or damage to the logic board. If you want to try something yourself, you will ne to replace the battery to see if that solves your problem. Unfortunately, the only way to really DIY troubleshoot an iPhone is to replace parts...and that costs money too.

Take out your battery and measure the voltage directly at the terminals. If it is less than 3.5 volts, it will not allow the phone to boot. That could be caused by a dead battery or defective charge circuit. Hence the conundrum.

Also test the Lightning cable and charging brick on another device to see if they truly work. Last question, are you using an Apple original or MFi certified charging brick? Cheap chargers can damage the charge circuit on the logic board.

Hey, I really appreciate the informative answer!

I'll try doing that and see what happens.

I'm using the original brick but my OG lightning cable somehow broke so I bought a new one for like £1.50 online. Thanks once again!
