I'm looking to replace a fuse on my logic board. I have a 13" MacBook Air: A1466 / EMC 2925

I can't, for the life of me, find out which "820-xxxx" logic board I have.

Please help!

Before you worry about the board ID which only helps you to find the correct schematic to trace out the fault which burnt the fuse to start with. Your system has a few fuses so knowing what your symptoms are can identify which fuse needs replacing.

A common fuse is the displays backlight which you can see here (marked in Red):

@danj thank you. I have checked that fuse with the Multimeter and it is working properly. I am looking for the correct schematic and boardview. Still would need the logic board ID.

Can you give me a clue here? ;-} Whats your symptoms? I might be able to save you some effort.

@danj so I spilled a sticky Lime juice and honey dressing in my mac while it was open. I did not have the time to power it down before it went black on its own. The keyboard and track pad were completely ruined. I purchased a new top case with keyboard and track pad. I cleaned the logic board with alcohol and a toothbrush. Let dry and reassembled to new top case. Upon start up I had an image and a backlight but 3 seconds after booting, backlight was gone. I DO have an image. I've used the flash light through the apple and plugged into an external screen. I guess I'm looking for the right schematic so I can locate the enabler and driver on my logic board to test them with multimeter. I am new to this and want to do the rework on my own. Does this help? What do you suggest?

Ryan Smith post some good images of your logic board (front and back)with your answer. That way we can see what you see. You also want to let us know which fuse you want to replace and why. Aggiungere immagini ad una domanda

820-3209 is for a EMC2559 (MacBook Air 13.3" 1.8GHz Core i5 (A1466) - Mid 2012) and may or may not use the same schematic. This is not an area where you want to guess.

Your logic board is a 820-00165 and not a 820-3209

Ryan Smith if you post some images of your boards we can point the IC's out to you. Make sure that you check your display data cable connector since they can shorten out your backlight as well. You do want to check for power on your fuse to ensure that you are getting power to that part of your circuit.

@oldturkey03 when checking display cable connector. What should I be looking /testing for?

da

check for corrosion as well as broken loose pins. Those are hard to see and not easily identified. You do need to recognize that eventually you'll have to test those parts for short to ground etc. Hardest part of this job is to identified what has failed. Hope you do get a chance to post some images.
