Why my MacBook Pro is not powering on

Since my MacBook Pro 13" early 2015 battery died I had been using it as a desktop for almost 4 months.

Bam! My charger burnt the other day. I bought a new MagSafe2 60w power adapter and plugged in. But unlike before, it is not powering on. Instead it shows a low battery with a charging sign. Is it still a battery problem or there is other issues as well?

One does to be careful where you buy your MagSafe adapter! There are a few fakes out there now as Apple has pulled back going after the cloners.

- Counterfeit Macbook charger teardown: convincing outside but dangerous inside

- Lacking safety features, cheap MacBook chargers create big sparks

Sorry on scaring you as you could have caused more damage inside your system if you got a fake one.

@danj The adaptor that I bought is original. It is manufactured by the company called delta electronic.

We'll need to check a few things here. Review this Apple T/N: Apple Portables: Troubleshooting MagSafe adapters is the MagSafe connector clean and not melted (both sides)?

I think you'll need to bite the bullet here to get a new battery as you need to get your system running so we can diagnose it. Here is the IFIXIT battery replacement kit: MacBook Pro 13" Retina (Early 2015) Battery and here's the IFIXIT guide you'll need to follow: Sostituzione batteria nel MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display versione inizio 2015 IFIXIT can't ship batteries by air only by ground transport so you may need to locate a battery locally.

In the meantime lets download this gem of an App: CoconutBattery as you can't get your system running at this point we'll need to wait. Keep in mind the battery you get will only have a small amount of charge so we want to install this ASAP so we can get a screenshot of the main window of the app. Once without the MagSafe and then again with the MagSafe plugged in. Hold off plugging in the MagSafe until we have the first snapshot. Before the system runs out of power you'll want to copy off to your USB thumb drive the two images then paste them here for us to see in your Question (edit).

From my many years of experience with any and all MacBooks I can say that it most likely is a battery problem. Now using this amazing website you can fix that issue. Either taking it to Apple Store and having them do it, or buying the battery from an alternate seller and doing it your self.

@machead3179 thanks for your responds. I also think that it is battery problem. I am thinking of replacing a battery by myself. Do you have any experience of replacing MacBook Pro Retina display battery. If yes, how difficult it is. Would you recommend me to do by myself.
