Does everything else work properly?
It could be related to your replacement screen. You could re-install the original screen if it still works (even though it may be cracked) just to see if the problem is still there. If the phone still gets hot with the original screen, you should inspect the screen connectors on the logic board to see if there is any debris or damage.
