Pioneer says "STOP", wont register song playing. What to do?

Is this a problem with my old volvo, or pioneer itself? I know of others with this error, but they do also drive old volvos and a pioneer player.

It says "STOP" and wont let me skip songs, but the music plays so it's not a critical error. Just annoying af.
