What is customizable in the MacBook Pro 13'' Mid 2012 Unibody.

Hi guys,

I have a mid 2012 Macbook Pro 13'', which is already upgraded with 16gb RAM and 1Tb SSD, but I was wondering what I could do next to reach it's full potential. I actually don't want to pay for a new machine, and as I did not pay for this actual Macbook Pro, I think it would be worth the money to invest a little bit and upgrade it. Is it possible to change anything else, other than what I already did?

Thank you guys for your help!

This is the machine that most of the people at iFixit use because of its repairability. It is also the machine I prefer along with the 15". The most common problem for slow down in it is the hard drive/IR cable. It gets damaged as it climbs over the top ledge and onto the optical drive. To protect it I use a thick padded tape on either side of the cable to prevent the bottom from impacting it. For a while Apple was offering free replacement of this cable. Check the part number on yours and go with the 821-2049. @danj can verify that part number.

It depends on what which model you have. If you have the low end model you could swap out the logic board with a high end model (2.5 GHz i5 Vs 2.9 GHz i7). It's a bit of work but thats about it.
