Why does nothing show on my screen but schedule notifications on boot?

this morning I turned on my phone and it showed the Samsung and Verizon things. When it finished it showed nothing. But when my calendar went off it showed the calendar full-screen notification. After I dismissed it showed nothing again. I've tried safe mode. Any ideas?
