Power cycling after iOS 11 update

Hello people, after my partner updated her 5s to iOS11 the device now power cycles after a few minutes. Obviously the first step here could be restoring the device but sadly she updated her phone without backing up............. The one major caveat I have is that the device has a third party (ifixit) battery. I know from previous iOS release that sometimes devices with third party hardware run into firmware issues.

interesting enough it appears that once the device begins to run a back it restarts, granted it doesn't stay on very long in the first place.

Is anyone else having this same issue?

5sRepairs iOS 11 apparently caused a few issues. Yours might be related (due to the 3rd party battery?) to it. Check this site by our contributor @refectio on how to use 3uTools to restore your device to iOS 10.3.3.Let us know if this helped.

Apple just released 11.0.1 earlier today. Try with this new minor revision.

It's certainly worth a try but according to this site, this new update is only for addressing Microsoft Exchange issues.

@refectio you've misread Ars' article. a) addressing Exchange issues is mentioned in the 11.0.0 release notes where it stated that this issue was to be fix in 11.0.1. b) Apple's official release notes for 11.0.1 simply has a general "security fixes" statement.

You might not be able to send email with an Outlook.com, Office 365, or Exchange account until you update to iOS 11.0.1.

If your email account is hosted by Microsoft on Outlook.com or Office 365, or an Exchange Server 2016 running on Windows Server 2016, you might see this error message when you try to send an email with iOS 11: "Cannot Send Mail. The message was rejected by the server."

To fix the issue, update to iOS 11.0.1 or later.

Seems pretty clear to me and is completely in accord with what I said; the whole point of 11.0.1 is to fix the Exchange issue. This has been written up by several tech sites and several repair techs have confirmed that 11.0.1 does NOT solve the Touch issue.

@refectio, the exchange issue is one issue if fixes only specifically mentioned in 11.0.0. Nothing else is stated in 11.0.0 nor 11.0.1. Correct it may not fix the touch issue, what ever that is, however, the Exchange issue is probably not the only issue resolved which is what you stated. Also, this thread is about reboot issues not touch issues.
