SATA cable replacement now a blank screen

Last year I replaced my hard drive and RAM and it had been running hot with fans on high whenever I opened photos. I asked on the forum and got the response to replace the SATA cable Why is my MacBook heating up when photos open?

I was finally able to do that last night. I also replaced my battery as I have been needing a new battery. I turned it on after the replacement last night and everything seemed to work like normal. When I woke up this morning I went to check my laptop as I had left it on but closed. I opened it and the sound of the hard drive running started but the screen didn't turn on. So I held the power button to turn it off. When I turned it back on it gave me my log in for the password and after I typed that and entered then it went to just a white screen with bars at the center bottom. What did I do?

I’m thinking you need to reset your SMC as you replaced battery. Here’s a good Apple T/N on how to do it: Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac See if that solves the problem.

But you do need to properly calibrate the battery after resetting the SMC following this process How to Calibrate the Battery in your MacBook Pro
