MacBook Pro A1425 won't startup after MagSafe 2 cable replacement.

Lately the pins of my MacBook Pro MagSafe 2 magnetic connector were worn out. The mid pin was jammed. The battery was not charging anymore. So I' ve ordered a new MagSafe 2 replacement cable. I was still able to run the computer as the charger was pluged to the wall(green light on). After a week the battery got completely discharged. I get the replacement cable few days later. I dismantled the charger and welded the new cable. After plugging back the new MagSafe cable to the computer I was expecting to see some light glooming. Only a very short green blink shown up once. And that's it. I then noticed that the MagSafe magnetic plug started to heat up. I assumed that it was charging the battery. After a few hours It looks like the battery stoped to drain from the charger as the MagSafe magnetic end wasn't hot anymore. From this point I've never been able to startup again the computer. I've tried several things like the smc reset , disconnect the battery, try again the smc reset, but without success. We live in a remote place in Mexico and it's quite hard to get access to a Apple Store to try a proper 60w charger. A friend of mine lend me he's 45w charger. When plugged in the green light gloom for a sec and then switch to orange and starts to fade off till it switches off completely. The interesting thing about it, is that the light won't switch back on after unplugging and plugging again to my computer. I had to be reconnected it to his computer first and then to mine to see the above described sequence (green light and the orange fading off). I'm a bit confused now, and any suggestions will be very appreciated.

Sorry to tell you, but you've likely fried your motherboard — or your I/O board at the very least. The magnetic end wasn't hot anymore because whatever short circuit was created that heated things up had burned out "after a few hours" and the connector cooled. But by that time the damage would already be done.

Also, re: "The mid pin was jammed."

Unplug the AC adapter, generously spray the end with WD40, let it sit for awhile, then use a toothpick to work the pins up and down. Hang the connector down to drain the WD40, spray it liberally with electronics cleaner and >91% isopropyl alcohol, then let it dry overnight. Use a bit of poster putty to clean the MagSafe receptacle in the laptop and it's usually good to go.

Talking about the connector heating up, I must say that it's always have been the case in the past. I must tell that the air temperature here is always above 95 F. It's been running that way for the past year. Not being able to startup the machine is only since the battery was fully drained and the MagSafe cable changed.

I had already done the the trick withe the WD40. It worked a while, but didn't last for long, it's why I bought the MagSafe replacement cable.

I've been thinking this over and over. And what if these MagSafe replacement cables sold on internet don't complies with apple's one wire communication standards. This cable is apparently not specified for 45, 60, or 85w. It's given for a MagSafe 2, and that's it. Is a 85w charger will work with my MacBook, and what about a 45w charger.
