chromebook is connected to wifi but has no access to internet

I have a brand new Asus and can't even get it started. My wifi is connected and showing its on strong, but no access to any internet... I ran diagnostics and it says

captive portal "canceled"

DNS "failed"

Firewall "canceled"

google search "canceled"

Local network "canceled"

I don't know what a DNS is

So I did a "powerwash" and restarted it... again it says network not available when I am hooked up to my home wifi... (all other devices are working off the wifi just fine). When I click more it goes through process of trying to connect which I did 50 times already.

How do I know if I am using WEP, WPA/WPA2, EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, WAP-PEAP, or TKIP???

Need more information about the wireless network you are connecting to, is it a WIFI router or a wireless access point? Does your chrome book connect to internet in a different location such as a coffee shop?

did you ever figure out the problem, my son's Asus C101pa chromebook is doing the exactly the same thing. It started not connecting to the internet after it left and wouldn't reconnect. it is a new router and new service but this thing has always been flaky since we have had it. This is the second one the first one the charger quit after a week. Returned for a new one.

I called Asus tech support because I've couldn't get it to work. I was instructed to forget the WiFi that it wouldn't connect powered the Chromebook off and turned it back on, signed in, logged into the home WiFi, entered the password and it logged in. I had done the same thing 10 times with out sitting it off and it worked.

The WiFi on that Chromebook is still kinda flaky. But it is working hopefully it gets better.

Analyzing all the remedie's. [ If a port is captive and using T- mobile cell phone" mobile data and know on another computer is not working? 2019 Dell chrome notebook! ] Yet on a on 2 latitudes, 830 etc moniter' s all functioned “ the manner it should, what would thougth and recommendation on the Dell 2019 captives port. [ not ] excepting the mobiile data from T- mobile hot spot etc;! Networks, [ vip] is working in, at any other wifi locations the way expected”.

For what its worth. There are a few things that can keep wifi from connecting fully. The protocol is one, Auto usually works. The next problem is the drivers for wifi, try updating the drivers or download the drivers from the manufacturer's support site. Another problem could be that the access point is secured with and is waiting for authentication, sometimes this uses a web browser to enter the name/password.

Thy below steps to Solve Android WiFi connected but no Internet

1. Check for Mobile Data is Turned Off/On

2. Forget Wi-Fi network and re-enter the password

3. Check internet and Wi-fi Connection

Check other devices for the internet:

Try Connection other devices to the same Wi-Fi:

4. Restart Router and device and connect to the internet

5. Check LAN Cable and Internet configuration on WiFi Router

6. Configure Router for MAC filter to solve no internet over Wi-Fi on Android

7. Reset Android Network Settings to Default to Fix WiFi Connected But No Internet access.

8. Wipe Android Cache Partition to solve No Internet over Wi-Fi on Android
